  14. X-Pander 3 Cartridge Expansion Unit

  16. In my continuing effort to sell more
  17. products for your Commodore
  18. computer, I determined users would
  19. buy more cartridge-based solutions
  20. if they could plug more into their
  21. machine at one time  Thus, given the
  22. lack of cartridge expansion options
  23. on the market at present, I am
  24. producing the X-Pander. Modelled off
  25. the CMD EX-3, CMD EX2+1, and the
  26. FB-3XP, X-Pander offers the
  27. following features and design
  28. aspects:
  29.  
  30. * 3 upright expansion slots
  31. * 1 rear-facing slot for larger
  32.   cartridge options (REU, etc.)
  33. * Each slot can be controlled via 8
  34.   DIP switches
  35.   (GAME,EXROM,IO1,IO2,ROML,ROMH,POWER
  36.   are selectable)
  37. * Slots #2 and #3 can swap IO lines
  38.   (IO1->IO2, IO2->IO1)
  39. * Power LED indicators for each slot
  40. * Switches are located on right side
  41.   for easy access
  42. * IO1/IO2 swap option located on
  43.   right side for easy access
  44. * Long throw "piano" lever switches
  45.   used for ease of configuration
  46. * Slot #3 can be accessed via top or
  47.   rear port.

  49. The prototype units have arrived and
  50. have been tested, production units
  51. are currently in manufacturing and
  52. should be in the store in a month.
  53. Current pricing estimates are $30.00.
